DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
I bought this costume for my daughter for Halloween – it’s a good thing grandma is handy on the sewing machine to fix its many inadequacies. This costume is very poorly constructed and I’m disappointed for these reasons:
1) THE WINGS – incredibly flimsy! My daughter walked around in them for maybe 10 minutes (during which she complained about how much the elastic hurt her armpits) and they are already falling apart. You can’t tell by the picture, but they are not attached to the dress – they have elastic bands that go over the shoulders and look very tacky over the straps of the dress. The picture is incredibly deceiving as there is NO way of hiding the ugly white elastic band.
2) THE DRESS – very poorly made and I shouldn’t even really call it a dress because the skirt is completely see-through, so we’ll have to wear leggings or shorts underneath.
3) THE ACCESSORIES – why did they even bother with these??? It comes with a bejeweled ring that comes in the shape of a “C,” so that you can adjust it to any finger size. The problem is, it is SO stiff that you would need some hefty pliers to bend it into shape…I haven’t tried yet. I’ll probably just toss it. The bracelet is basically a piece of ribbon with a very heavy butterfly charm attached. You have to “clasp” it with a small bit of velcro, which doesn’t hold because the charm is so heavy and besides the velcro is set for giant size wrists, so no toddler would be able to wear it without having someone reconstruct it.
If there were 0 stars, this would be worthy.
I give this item 5 stars on the educational value only because I have learned a valuable lesson to NOT to buy another product without reviews! Hopefully this first review will deter other suckers from wasting $ on this!!
